About the format
Job aids are practical tools that provide quick access to information needed for tasks, supporting performance without the need for memorization. Here are some effective ways to use job aids:
As Printed Materials on Work Desks
In Digital Tooltips or Pop-ups
Job aids can be placed such as flowcharts or quick reference cards in visible locations to assist with daily tasks.
Job aids might be implemented within software or applications, offering users immediate help where and when they need it, enhancing usability and efficiency.
As a Practical Addendum to a Learning Course
Also I prefer to integrate job aids like checklists or step-by-step instructions to reinforce learning and provide a quick reference.
There are several types of job aids, and you can find my examples below.
Cheklist
Developed during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, this checklist was designed to assist employees in crafting strong, secure passwords, crucial for protecting corporate systems. Using Canva for its visually engaging layout, the checklist was distributed to employees who completed the Cybersecurity Awareness for Employees course. The checklist not only reinforced the training content but also provided a practical tool to support ongoing cybersecurity efforts within the company.
